When do I need a cycling neck warmer?

Most riders start reaching for one below about 15 degrees. A lightweight seamless tube covers 12 to 20 degrees and doubles as sun and dust protection. Merino sits comfortably between 5 and 15. Thermal fleece suits anything close to freezing. Because the neck loses heat quickly, adding one often lets you ride in a lighter jacket than you would otherwise need.

Merino or thermal fleece?

Merino holds warmth when damp and resists odour over consecutive days, which makes it the most versatile choice for Australian winters. Thermal fleece is warmer and bulkier and earns its place on the coldest mornings. If you are buying one only, buy merino.

Can I wear a neck warmer over my mouth?

You can, with one caveat. Breathing through a thick warmer on a hard effort soaks it with condensation, and once it is wet it will feel colder than bare skin. Choose one with a thinner or perforated front panel if you plan to ride with your face covered, and drop it below your chin when the effort goes up.

How long does delivery take?

Express Post within Australia is $19.95, and orders placed before 4pm ACST go out the same day and typically arrive in 1 to 3 days.
