Category 3 covers bright daylight and is what most riders want through the middle of the day. Category 1 suits dawn starts, overcast conditions and tree cover. Category 0 is a clear lens for night riding and dusty gravel. Most riders here need at least two of those, which is why photochromic lenses are so popular locally.

For the standard Australian ride, yes. A photochromic lens shifts across roughly categories 1 to 3, so one pair handles a dawn start that finishes in full glare without you carrying a spare lens. If you only ever ride in the middle of the day, a fixed category 3 lens does the same job for less.

Several of the brands we carry offer a clip-in prescription insert that sits behind the main lens, which keeps the wraparound coverage a standard prescription frame gives up. Bring your script into the Adelaide showroom and we can check the options against the frames we stock.
