X-LAB hydration and bottle mounts: aerospace-trained design from California
X-LAB was founded in 1993 in the San Diego area of California by Craig Turner, a former aerospace design specialist, who ran what's described as one of the first mail-order triathlon businesses in the US before turning to hydration hardware. X-LAB is credited with pioneering the dual-bottle rear hydration carrier in 1992, and later the horizontal bottle mount and refillable one-piece bottle system, a category it's remained closely associated with since.
