ASSOS cycling apparel: Swiss engineering from the shores of Lake Lugano

ASSOS was founded in 1976 in the Ticino region of southern Switzerland by Tony Maier-Moussa, who started out studying aerodynamics for bicycle frames and rider position before concluding that clothing was the bigger factor in drag. Drawing on Swiss ski-racing suit construction, he built one of the earliest Lycra cycling shorts and skinsuits, and the company still designs and tests from Ticino today through its in-house pro-team development group.

What we stock

Our ASSOS range includes women's short-sleeve jerseys (UMA GT), women's bib shorts and 3/4 knickers (H.Laalalai, T.rally), men's bib shorts (T.mille, T.Laalalai), the EQUIPE RS rain jacket, arm and knee warmers, and several sock ranges including the Cento Evo8 and Monogram Evo8, with new pieces added as ASSOS releases them.

Sizing

ASSOS apparel is built for a genuinely close, race-oriented fit, tighter than most other European brands on this list. If you're not used to that level of compression or want a more relaxed feel, sizing up from your usual chart measurement is common advice.
