Fox mountain bike apparel and protective gear: motocross heritage on the trail

Fox was founded in 1974 in Irvine, California, by Geoff Fox, originally as a motocross apparel brand (the separate suspension company, Fox Factory, was spun off in 1977 by his brother Bob). Fox rebranded from Fox Racing to Fox Head in 2006 to formally expand beyond motocross into mountain biking and other action sports, and was acquired by Vista Outdoor in 2022, joining Bell and Giro in the same portfolio.
