Castelli size chart

Castelli figures are the maximum body measurement for that size. Read down to the first number you are under. Jackets built to layer over a jersey (Perfetto, Gabba, Alpha) run closer to true than the rest of the range.

How to measure

  • Chest: under your arms, around the fullest part, arms relaxed at your sides
  • Waist: around your natural waistline, tape held loose
  • Hips: around the widest part
  • Inseam: from crotch to floor, no shoes

Measure over the underwear you would ride in and keep the tape horizontal. All measurements refer to your body, not the garment.

Two rules that work across every brand. Buying a jacket to wear over a jersey? Take your normal size or size up. Buying a thermal jersey to wear under a jacket? Size down if you are between sizes and want it close.

DESCRIPTION

THE FIRST AERO JERSEY PROJECT WAS CALLED SPLIT SECOND

When Castelli engineered the first aero jersey for road racing back in 2006, everyone thought they were crazy. Back then, aero was only for TTs. Performance clothing meant moisture management. And you could win the Tour de France with a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt. Even their aerodynamic consultants expected limited gains, so Castelli named the jersey Split Second, though, like now, they thought even small gains were worth pursuing. In the end, the gains were pretty substantial, and Castelli completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton.

Castelli is now on the sixth major revision of their aero jersey. Each generation has become more aero and better fitting. The Aero Race 6.0 benefits heavily from CFD analysis of wake flow in the riding position for fabric and seam placement. It also benefits from professional riders' feedback, as they've worked to make the jersey comfortable for their long hours of training and then racing in every possible weather condition.
